W&L graduate and native San Diegan Amy V. Bianchini has joined the Klinedinst San Diego office as an associate. A former squad captain of UCSD’s women’s epee fencing team, Ms. Bianchini will put her skills to good use for clients involved in business litigation.
SAN DIEGO – Klinedinst has announced the addition of Amy V. Bianchini as an associate in the firm’s San Diego office. Ms. Bianchini will be working with business clients on a variety of litigation matters.
Ms. Bianchini is a native of San Diego who earned her J.D. at Washington and Lee University School of Law. One of her greatest accomplishments was her participation in W&L’s Black Lung Clinic, which assists coal miners and their survivors who are pursuing federal black lung benefits. The clinic’s clients are represented by students, who work closely with licensed faculty members to pursue these cases.
As part of her work with the Black Lung Clinic, Ms. Bianchini helped evaluate claims, develop evidence, conduct discovery, and write motions. She appeared before an Administrative Law Judge, and her efforts led to her client successfully receiving the federal benefits she was seeking. She also calculated and submitted penalties to the Department of Labor for clients who had not been paid by the coal companies.
Prior to law school, Ms. Bianchini received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego, where she was a nationally-recognized squad captain of the women’s epee fencing team. She earned Provost’s Honors for ten quarters, and was a Gold Level Athletic Scholar for three consecutive seasons.
