Mariel I. Estigarribia is a shareholder in the San Diego office of Klinedinst PC. Ms. Estigarribia has experience in representing privately held companies of all sizes as well as publicly-traded companies in the merger and acquisition of other entities and assets in addition to corporate formation; drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and leases; representing issuers and investors in transactions involving raising of capital; advising corporate clients with respect to all aspects of government contracts and special certifications; representing buyers and sellers in real property transactions; assisting clients with Securities Exchange Act compliance and public company reporting; advising clients with respect to corporate governance matters as well as general business counseling.
In addition, Ms. Estigarribia has also worked on cross-border transactions specifically with Latin American and South American entities.
Prior to joining Klinedinst, Ms. Estigarribia honed her business skills as an analyst at a boutique investment banking firm in New York City, where she mainly focused on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and bankruptcy matters. Ms. Estigarribia then practiced corporate law at a prominent national law firm in Detroit, Washington, D.C. and San Diego, handling a vast array of complex transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, equity and debt financings and securities compliance matters.
Ms. Estigarribia’s fluency in Spanish, her thorough understanding of financial data and her comprehensive legal experience, has well-positioned her to advise corporate clients, including those dealing with cross-border matters. San Diego Super Lawyers® profiled Ms. Estigarribia as one of its Rising Stars. In 2013, Ms. Estigarribia was honored in The Daily Transcript as a San Diego Top Attorney in Corporate Transactional Law. In addition, Ms. Estigarribia was recognized by The San Diego Business Journal as an honoree of the 2009 and 2010 “Women Who Mean Business” Award.
Ms. Estigarribia is a member of the Business Law and Trusts and Estates Section of the San Diego County Bar Association and the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA).
Ms. Estigarribia is a graduate of the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business and the University of Michigan Law School. She is fluent in speaking, reading and writing Spanish.
