Kim Carter to Present on Employment Law in the Wake of Civil Unrest

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA — On August 25, 2020, Klinedinst’s Kim L. Carter will be a featured panelist at an upcoming San Diego County Bar Association webinar titled “Employment Law, the Battle Ground for Civil Rights: What Employers Should Know in the Wake of Civil Unrest & the #BLM Movement.” 

The virtual event is being hosted by the Labor & Employment Law Section of the San Diego County Bar Association and will explore the nation’s current social unrest related to the BLM movement, as well as analyze the effects this is having on employees. Carter will be speaking alongside Regina Petty of Fisher Phillips and Hali Anderson of Graham Hollis, APC.

The panelists will discuss recent employment laws that are meant to address systemic racism, discuss loopholes in the implementation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and provide practical guidance on the workplace with insights on ways to handle the issues of diversity and inclusion.

Ms. Carter is an accomplished presenter who speaks regularly on employment litigation involving claims of race/disability discrimination. She is an advocate in the legal community for inclusion and diversity efforts, including her involvement in the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association and the Central San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce (CSDBCC). She has served on the San Diego County Bar Association’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, whose work advocates for equal access to entry, advancement, and success in the legal profession.
