SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – Klinedinst PC welcomes Carole J. Buckner the firm’s San Diego office as Senior Counsel.
Ms. Buckner comes to the firm with a wealth of experience in a number of core practice areas. She has deep sophistication with legal ethics, professional responsibility, legal malpractice, and risk management, including advising law firms and lawyers and rendering expert opinions relating to the law of lawyering. She was recognized by Best Lawyers in America® dating back to 2019, and was selected as Lawyer of the Year for Ethics and Professional Responsibility in 2023. In addition, she has significant experience representing clients in business, employment, and real estate litigation matters, including internal investigations.
Through volunteerism and public service, Ms. Buckner has had a role in defining ethics in the legal community. Ms. Buckner was a member of The State Bar of California’s Committee on Professionalism and Conduct (COPRAC) starting in 2005, and she led this high-profile committee as Chair from 2009-2010. She has also held leadership positions in professional responsibility committees for other regional bar associations, including the Orange County Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the San Diego County Bar Association.
Ms. Buckner is a recognized speaker and author on a wide array of topics, including attorneys’ fees, the Rules of Professional Conduct, client trust accounting, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, screening, judicial recusal, lawyer advertising, and more. She has achieved the highest AV®-Preeminent™ peer-review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and was named Woman Leader in the Law by American Lawyer in 2021.
