Joann Horta-Baez is a law clerk in Klinedinst’s Sacramento office. She first joined Klinedinst as a Sacramento County Bar Association Diversity Fellow for the summer of 2017, and returned as a law clerk in the summer of 2018.
Ms. Horta-Baez is on her last year of law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She was a judicial extern for the Honorable Morrison C. England, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. As part of the Moot Court Honors Board, Ms. Horta-Baez represented McGeorge at the 2018 Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, where her team was awarded 2nd Best Brief at the Regional Competition in Denver, CO. She is an active member of the Latino/a Law Students Association and the McGeorge International Law Society. Ms. Horta-Baez is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Political Science.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Ms. Horta-Baez is fluent in Spanish. She is an avid traveler and has visited Uruguay, Argentina, Italy, France, Turkey, Estonia, Finland, Mexico and Spain.
