Justin Y. Lo is an Associate in the Seattle office of Klinedinst PC, where his practice focuses on complex civil litigation and appellate matters. Mr. Lo brings a strong foundation in legal research, analytical writing, and judicial insight, shaped through extensive experience clerking at the highest levels of Washington’s judiciary.
Prior to joining Klinedinst, Mr. Lo served as a Judicial Law Clerk for multiple Justices of the Washington Supreme Court, including the Honorable Sheryl Gordon McCloud, the Honorable Raquel Montoya-Lewis, and former Chief Justice Barbara Madsen. In these roles, he evaluated litigation strategy across complex civil, criminal, and administrative appeals, conducted comprehensive legal research, and drafted memoranda addressing unsettled legal issues, statutory interpretation, and procedural conflicts. He also previously served in the Washington Supreme Court Commissioner’s Office, where he provided legal recommendations on significant appellate matters and contributed to jurisprudential analysis affecting statewide legal precedent.
In addition to his judicial experience, Mr. Lo worked as a Legal Specialist for a cloud-based tax compliance software company, supporting in-house counsel on cross-border legal research, foreign data privacy compliance, and contract review for international operations.
Mr. Lo earned his Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law, where he served as Lead Articles Research and Technical Editor for the Seattle University Law Review and was inducted into the Order of Barristers. During law school, he distinguished himself through appellate advocacy and mock trial competition success, including earning the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Writing II: Written and Oral Advocacy and Homeless Rights Advocacy. He is also the published author of a law review article examining protective surrogacy laws and family law policy considerations.
Mr. Lo remains active in the legal community through leadership roles with the Asian Bar Association of Washington and the American Bar Association, where he serves in both litigation and immigration-focused leadership capacities.
In his free time, Mr. Lo can be found exercising, watching his favorite TV shows, or exploring new restaurants and discovering new, diverse dishes from different cultures.
