Robert K. Shawhan II is an associate in the downtown San Diego office of Klinedinst PC where his practice focuses primarily on civil litigation matters. He handles matters related to construction defect, general liability, catastrophic loss, probate, wrongful death, injury defense, medical and dental malpractice, and products liability.
Mr. Shawhan is an active member of the Welsh Inns of Court and an elected Member-at-Large in the San Diego County Bar Association, New Lawyer’s Division. Prior to his time at Klinedinst PC, he provided non-profit work for Nevada Legal Services, and he practiced civil litigation defense at a boutique law firm in San Diego, California and a mid-sized law firm in Long Beach, California.
Mr. Shawhan was born and raised in Nevada, splitting time between Las Vegas and Minden (Lake Tahoe area). He received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication, cum laude, from the University of Southern California and he received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly known as UC Hastings College of Law).
Mr. Shawhan is a former United States Professional Tennis teaching professional and was a nationally ranked competitive junior. In his free time, he likes to be outside staying active on the beach or in the mountains. In his free time, you can find Mr. Shawhan playing competitive tennis and volleyball, snowboarding and practicing yoga. Mr. Shawhan is most proud of his close relationship with his family and his extensive travel.
