12 Strategies for Mediation Success: Join Robert Shawhan for an SDCBA CLE


SAN DIEGO, CA –  Better mediation outcomes start with better preparation.

On September 15, 2026, from 12:00–1:00 PM PST, Klinedinst PC Associate Robert Shawhan will moderate an upcoming San Diego County Bar Association CLE, “Preparing, Persuading, and Resolving: 12 Strategies for Mediation Success.”

Shawhan, who also serves as Vice Chair of the SDCBA New Lawyer Division, will be joined by Bill VanDeWeghe, Esq., Mediator & Arbitrator at JAMS.

Presented by the SDCBA’s Alternative Dispute & Resolution Section and New Lawyer Division, the virtual program will provide practical guidance attorneys can use when preparing for and conducting civil mediations.

Attendees will learn strategies for engaging key decision-makers earlier, counseling clients on litigation risk and settlement decisions, preparing more effective mediation briefs, working strategically with mediators, and developing creative approaches to settlement.

The program offers 1.0 Hour of General CLE credit and is open to SDCBA members and non-members.
