Brandon J. Mika serves as Counsel in the San Diego office focusing primarily on financial services, complex lender liability, mortgage banking, real estate and commercial litigation.
Prior to joining Klinedinst, Mr. Mika managed a San Diego law office defending against lender liability litigation including alleged violations of FCRA, FDCPA, RFDCPA, RESPA, TILA, UCL, and HBOR. He also served as compliance counsel for foreclosure trustees, advising them on complex legal matters and statutory interpretation. Additionally, Mr. Mika is well-versed in breach of contract and traumatic personal injury cases.
Mr. Mika has represented a variety of clients including title insurance companies and major financial institutions. He also has experience as lead counsel in settlement conferences, mediations, and arbitrations.
Mr. Mika earned his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, graduating cum laude, with a dual Masters of Business Administration degree from San Diego State University. While at Thomas Jefferson, he received the CALI Award for the Highest Grade in Legal Writing I. During this time, Mr. Mika served as the Senior Articles Editor for the Thomas Jefferson Law Review. He also externed for the Honorable Joan H. Leftkow in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois where he received experience in a wide array of legal issues including motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss, settlement conferences, and federal court procedures and for the State of California’s Department of Business Oversight where he oversaw securities fraud investigations.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Mika received his B.S. from the University of Illinois.
