Luke McKay Turner is an associate in Klinedinst PC’s San Diego office, where his practice focuses on civil litigation, including commercial general liability and business litigation. He represents businesses, insurers, and individuals in a broad range of disputes and provides clients with strategic counsel throughout all stages of litigation. His experience includes complex motion practice, discovery, arbitration matters, contractual issues, and the evaluation of claims, defenses, and potential risk exposure.

Prior to joining Klinedinst, Mr. Turner developed his litigation experience through law clerk positions at law firms in San Diego County, where he worked on motion practice, discovery, depositions, mediation, legal research, and client communications. He also has experience drafting and analyzing contractual agreements and advising on issues involving risk, enforceability, and business considerations.

Mr. Turner earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University, graduating with honors. He earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, where he concentrated in Business Law and received the Academic Excellence Award in Legal Drafting for achieving the highest grade in the course. He was also selected as the Class of 2025 Graduation Student Speaker.

During law school, Mr. Turner gained valuable experience in both litigation and federal judicial proceedings. As a Judicial Extern for the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, he conducted legal research and drafted judicial orders and a proposed report and recommendation in a civil-rights matter. This experience provided him with firsthand insight into federal civil litigation and the judicial decision-making process.

Mr. Turner was actively involved in the California Western School of Law community, serving as President of both the Business Law Society and the Student Intellectual Property Law Association. He also participated in Trial Team, Moot Court, and the New Media Rights Clinic, and served as Chief Financial Officer of the Moot Court Honors Board. His leadership and advocacy accomplishments include receiving the Howard H. Baker National Leadership Award and the American Association for Justice Trial Advocacy Distinguished Advocate Award. Mr. Turner is also a published author. He co-authored “Automating Censorship: The Constitutional Dangers of Book Banning,” which was published in Book Bans, Classroom Restrictions, and the Fight for Educational Access by IGI Global.
