Tariq B. Blake, an associate in Klinedinst PC’s San Diego office, focuses his practice on civil litigation, with experience in employment and labor matters, business-related disputes, and regulatory issues. He represents clients through various stages of the litigation process, drawing on experience in legal research and analysis, pleadings and motion practice, discovery, and the evaluation of workplace claims and disputes.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Blake gained significant experience in California employment and labor law through positions with the Law Offices of Jeffrey C. McIntyre and Abramson Labor Group. In these roles, he evaluated potential claims arising from workplace disputes, researched California labor and employment laws, drafted complaints, motions, demands, and discovery, and communicated with opposing counsel and third-party experts.
Mr. Blake also served as a Legal Extern with the California Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, where he reviewed administrative law matters, analyzed legal arguments and evidence, prepared discovery materials, and reviewed entertainment agent contracts for compliance with applicable law. As a Legal Intern with Talbert Law Office, he gained additional experience drafting and editing contracts involving intellectual property and nonprofit matters.
Mr. Blake earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, where his studies included Property Law, Copyright Law, and Entertainment Law. He earned his Master of Legal Studies in Employment Law from Pepperdine University Law, where he studied employment law, arbitration, and dispute resolution. Mr. Blake earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Howard University.
Mr. Blake also has experience in alternative dispute resolution and has Spanish reading and writing proficiency, as well as Japanese speaking and reading proficiency.
