Seven Klinedinst attorneys based in California have been promoted to Shareholder. The newest Shareholders include Tara R. Burd (San Diego), Jonathan C. Cahill (Sacramento), Neeru Jindal (Los Angeles), and Phillip E. Stephan (San Diego).
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – Klinedinst PC is pleased to announce the promotion of seven attorneys to Shareholder. The newest shareholders include Tara R. Burd, Jonathan C. Cahill, Neeru Jindal, and Phillip E. Stephan.
The firm’s newest Shareholders practice in Klinedinst’s California offices in a wide array of practice areas, including professional liability, legal ethics, eDiscovery, data privacy, lender liability, financial, and general liability.
Tara R. Burd is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She represents clients in probate and trust litigation, and counsels clients in probate avoidance estate planning, probate administration, and professional liability defense. This year, she serves as Chair of the California Lawyers Association (CLA), the second-largest voluntary bar association in the country. She has also served on The State Bar of California’s Access Through Innovation of Legal Services (ATILS) Task Force.
Jonathan C. Cahill represents clients in business litigation, where he provides counsel on complex lender liability, bankruptcy issues, and mortgage banking cases. He has defended against lender liability litigation involving FCRA, FDCPA, RFDCPA, RESPA, TILA, UCL, and HBOR. He also experience representing title insurance companies and lenders in title disputes and litigation involving loan transactions.
Neeru Jindal represents clients in complex commercial and corporate litigation. She is adept at handling consumer-facing disputes, finance, business disputes, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, and class action litigation. She has defended clients in a variety of lending-related cases, including matters alleging violations of the Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. She also counsels on compliance with a variety of telecommunications, consumer protection, and privacy laws.
Phillip E. Stephan handles complex matters involving professional liability, employment, business and commercial litigation. He came to the firm with significant experience in class actions, antitrust, and unfair competition. Mr. Stephan has also represented companies in matters involving corporate governance, capital acquisition, contract drafting, strategic management, litigation, risk management, and intellectual property. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Lawyers Club of San Diego, where he serves on the Bench Bar, Trial Advocacy, and Community Service committees.
