Samantha M. Fong joined Klinedinst’s Sacramento office as a Law Clerk in 2024 after graduating from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, where she received her Juris Doctor and graduated cum laude.
During law school, she received a CALI award and Best Brief Award for her achievements in Legal Research and Writing II. Ms. Fong was also a board member of the UC Law SF Moot Court Team. She participated in multiple competitions, placing fifth overall in the 58th Annual David E. Snodgrass Appellate Advocacy Competition and competing in the Thomas Tang National Moot Court Competition. She was also student coach for the Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition, and both student coach and brief editor for the Emory Civil Rights & Liberties Moot Court Competition. Additionally, Ms. Fong was Vice President of UC Law SF’s Vietnamese American Law Society, where she helped plan fundraising and social events with other affinity groups on campus. In 2022, she was also a member of the Scholarship Dinner Committee for the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Northern California.
Before joining Klinedinst, Ms. Fong worked as a law clerk at a Bay Area firm, where she gained valuable legal experiences working on labor and employment, immigration, and personal injury cases. She also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Sallie Kim in the United States District Court, Northern District of California, where she obtained experience analyzing pending law and motion matters and drafting orders. Before law school, Ms. Fong was a litigation paralegal and worked primarily on antitrust cases.
Prior to law school, Ms. Fong graduated cum laude from University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in Legal Studies with honors in the major. In her free time, she enjoys playing electric guitar, discovering new gluten free baking recipes, and sketching.
