Matthew Van Fleet is Senior Counsel in the Irvine office of Klinedinst PC, with a litigation practice focusing on commercial finance, business, and real estate matters. Mr. Van Fleet’s commitment to his clients, combined with his broad range of legal proficiency, positions him as a leading figure in business and real estate law, making him a valuable asset to any legal team. Mr. Van Fleet is experienced in virtually all aspects of pre-trial, trial, and post-trial procedure and has served as first-chair in numerous trials. His specific skills include but are not limited to drafting pleadings, discovery, drafting motions, conducting and defending depositions, negotiating and drafting settlement agreements, and conducting trial. Additionally, Mr. Van Fleet is versed in real estate and business transactions, including contract review, contract interpretation, and contract negotiations.
Prior to joining Klinedinst, Mr. Van Fleet served as Of Counsel at the Law Office of Parag L. Amin, P.C., where he successfully oversaw matters involving litigation of business and partnership disputes. His role involved drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, developing litigation strategies, negotiating settlements, trial preparation, and reviewing contracts for interpretation and compliance.
Mr. Van Fleet also served as a senior trial attorney at MLG, Attorneys at Law, where he led business litigation for automotive dealers in complex disputes involving corporate and governmental entities. He managed a five-member litigation team and was actively engaged in high-stakes products liability cases, drafting appeals, and arguing before the California Court of Appeals.
Prior to that, Mr. Van Fleet was the Managing Member and Corporate Counsel at Fleet-Miller, LLC, where he oversaw oil and gas interests in Oklahoma. Matthew’s experience also includes a tenure as General Counsel at Citadel Servicing Corporation, providing legal guidance across all company operations and ensuring compliance with applicable laws in the financial services sector.
