Jodi Donetta Lowry

Senior Counsel

J.D. Lowry is Senior Counsel in the Las Vegas law office of Klinedinst PC.

Over the past two decades, Ms. Lowry has represented a wide range of clients, ranging from cardiothoracic surgeons to restaurant proprietors to consumer fireworks importers in state and federal trial and appellate courts. She brings a unique perspective to each case, having worked both defense and plaintiff sides.

Ms. Lowry is a former science and medical editor who delves into critical technical minutiae underlying complex business, intellectual property, and professional liability cases and presents key issues to courts and agencies understandably and persuasively. She is also a visual artist who conceptualizes non-verbal issues potentially affecting case analysis, presentation, and outcomes.

Ms. Lowry’s principal legal experience has been in intellectual property litigation, commercial litigation, and medical and legal professional liability. She has also prepared intellectual property licensing agreements and complex settlement agreements before federal courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. The U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada has recognized the presumptive viability of a state common-law cause of action for misappropriation of commercial properties, a novel intellectual property tort extending beyond traditional copyright, trademark, and trade dress infringement, that was first advanced by Ms. Lowry and her former colleagues.

Ms. Lowry earned her J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law, and a B.A. magna cum laude from Hollins University in art history and English. She has lived and practiced law in Las Vegas since 2001. In 2010, Ms. Lowry was named a Rising Star in Mountain States Super Lawyers for her work in intellectual property litigation. She has published bar journal articles and presented continuing legal education seminars on long-term-care malpractice defense, federal civil procedure, and intellectual property protection. Her paper art and ‘zines have been exhibited and distributed internationally.
