Suzanne L. Schmidt lends her writing talent and appellate expertise as Counsel in the downtown San Diego office of Klinedinst PC. In addition to civil litigation and business appeals, Ms. Schmidt employs her clear writing style crafting petitions for writs and complex motion work for the firm. With intellectual rigor, she supports the firm’s litigation through appellate consulting and strategy sessions prior to and during trial. She aims to ensure the victories obtained at trial are upheld in the appellate courts.

Prior to joining Klinedinst PC, Ms. Schmidt focused on appeals, earning her a reputation for crafting clear, concise, and persuasive appellate briefs. Through sharp analysis and advancing clear arguments, Ms. Schmidt obtained successful results for her clients in both the California Court of Appeal and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal.

Ms. Schmidt is dedicated to justice and public service. Prior to starting her own practice, the Law Offices of Suzanne Schmidt, she was a staff attorney at Children’s Legal Services of San Diego.There, she represented children in dependency proceedings and assisted the juvenile court by drafting clear and concise briefs when the court faced complex and important issues thatintimately impacted the future of her clients. Ms. Schmidt remains dedicated to advocating for families in dependency appeals.

Ms. Schmidt earned her juris dictate, ranking second in her graduating class, from California Western School of Law where she was a member of Law Review and the Executive Editor of the CWSL International Law Journal. Throughout law school, Ms. Schmidt interned at various organizations such as the United Nations and United States District Court.

On the weekends, you might encounter Ms. Schmidt performing at an improv comedy show, walking her dogs, or reading a book at a local coffee shop.
