John C. Goodman brings nearly three decades of experience to Klinedinst as Senior Counsel. Mr. Goodman has extensive experience counseling and negotiating for clients with a focus on construction law and construction-related insurance defense. He has worked on major public work cases involving large entities, including state departments of transportation, municipalities, and other public works departments.
Prior to Klinedinst, Mr. Goodman worked as Principal Attorney at his own law practice, representing numerous subcontractors and general contractors in disputes involving both public and private construction projects. He has been appointed as Special Litigation Counsel by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Central District of California to collect on claims of a bankrupt general contractor against various public entities. He also has significant experience in private construction cases.
Mr. Goodman received his B.A. in economics from Michigan State University. He earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, graduating second in his class. It was at TJSL that Mr. Goodman was honored by his peers as a write-in candidate and served as a representative on the student council. As a law student, Mr. Goodman completed his clerkship at the San Diego Superior Court, under the Honorable Judge Arthur W. Jones, and his externship at the Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, under the Honorable Justice William L. Todd Jr.
