Kaleigh E. Thomas originally joined the firm as a Summer Law Clerk at Klinedinst PC’s Sacramento Office through the Sacramento County Bar Association Diversity Fellowship Program. She continued as a Law Clerk throughout the following two academic years and joined us as a post-bar law clerk after graduation. Upon passing the July 2021 California Bar Examination and being sworn in, she now joins the firm as an associate attorney.
Ms. Thomas graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Law in May 2021. In addition to her law degree, she earned a certificate in Intellectual Property Law and a Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Trade Secret Law. At King Hall, she served as President of the Black Law Students Association. She worked with the school’s administration to create the first-ever Martin Luther King Day of Service and Celebration, a school-wide day of service in celebration of the school’s namesake. Additionally, Ms. Thomas participated in the Gender Marker and Name Change Clinic, helping community members fill out the necessary paperwork to change their legal name and gender markers to reflect their identities better. Ms. Thomas served three years as an editor on the Business Law Journal and one year as the ABA Representative for King Hall. She also served as President of Law Cappella, a King Hall Admissions Ambassador, a member of the King Hall Board Game Club, King Hall Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Business Law Society.
Before attending law school, Ms. Thomas earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor’s of Science of Journalism in Strategic Communication, and Certificates in Service Learning, Global Awareness, and Leadership from the University of Kansas. In her free time, Ms. Thomas enjoys playing and listening to music, trying new foods, and exploring Sacramento and the surrounding area.
