SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – Klinedinst has re-enlisted to become an official 2022 National Corporate Donor for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. This marks the thirteenth consecutive year of support for Toys for Tots and its mission of delivering holiday cheer to children across the country.
“Thirteen years ago, we made a decision to shake up and improve the way law firms do holiday greetings, and Toys for Tots was a major part of that,” said Heather L. Rosing, CEO and President of Klinedinst. “We realized that instead of mailing greeting cards or gifts, we could do some good and redirect those funds and resources to the excellent work of Toys for Tots. 2022 marks the 75th anniversary of the Toys for Tots program. The organization, with its storied history dating back to 1947, continues to face unprecedented pressures, including uncertainty in the economy and rising inflation. Leftover issues from COVID-19, as well as supply chain issues and drop-off closures have created additional challenges.
“The need is greater than ever,” said retired Marine Lt. General James Laster, President and CEO of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, “because so many families across the country are struggling to keep up with high food and gas prices and rising inflation. Parents are having to make tough choices between buying enough food to feed their children or paying their utility bills. That’s a choice no family should have to make.”
Following its success in 2021, Toys for Tots is encouraging individuals to participate in its virtual ”Fill the Box” toy drive. Donors can experience the same joy of giving by selecting a toy online, purchasing it, and then placing the hand-picked toy in a virtual collection box. Toys are organized by age, and Toys for Tots will use the donation in areas where the need is greatest. For those that still wish to give a physical toy, Toys for Tots is collecting toys locally from hundreds of toy box locations, and donors can find the nearest location by clicking here.
