The event supported the nonprofit’s scholarship program, giving women the opportunity to attend educational conferences in the energy industry.

WRISE (formerly Women of Wind Energy, WoWE) is a national nonprofit whose mission is to change our energy future through the actions of women. It promotes the education, professional development and advancement of women to achieve a strong, diversified work force, cultivate leadership, and support a robust renewable energy economy. The San Diego Chapter of WRISE is a group committed to helping to further the professional development of women working in the wind energy field in Southern California. The organization is dedicated to helping build the sustainable energy community and raising awareness surrounding the advancement of the renewable energy economy.
The Women of Power Annual Fundraiser is an event dedicated to raising proceeds on behalf of WRISE’s scholarship program. This year, the program broadened their reach to support all areas of renewables and will give local women the opportunity to attend conferences such as the WRISE Annual Leadership Forum, Solar Power International, Energy Storage North America, and WINDPOWER, among others.
