SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – Klinedinst is pleased to announce that Andrew A. Servais, an experienced litigator and trial attorney, has joined the San Diego office as Shareholder. He will be working with clients in the areas of business and commercial litigation, professional liability, and complex liability.

Mr. Servais represents and counsels local businesses, attorneys, and law firms in pre-litigation matters, multi-week jury trials, and bench trials. By obtaining dozens of pre-trial dismissals of claims through summary judgment, non-suit, and California’s Anti-SLAPP statute, Mr. Servais has established a proven track record of delivering attorney fee awards resulting in more than six figures. Featured in the Daily Journal’s Top Verdicts of 2015, he was recognized for obtaining a $33.7 million verdict.

Over his legal career, Mr. Servais has developed significant experience on a wide-range of matters, including State Bar of California actions, state and federal enforcement investigations, general risk management and ethics issues, criminal defense and cannabis regulation issues, as well as law firm partnership disputes and dissolutions. Mr. Servais’ breadth of knowledge on diverse matters allows him to provide clients with the information they need to weigh the costs and benefits of proceeding at each stage of litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Servais served as an Extern for the U.S District Judge of Nevada, the U.S. Magistrate Judge, and the Southern District U.S. Attorney’s Office, White Collar Division. “We could not be more thrilled to welcome Andy to our firm,” said Heather L. Rosing, CEO and President of Klinedinst. “Andy is a very talented and successful trial attorney with a long history of community service in our community. As a shareholder with KPC, he will provide tremendous value to our clients.”

Mr. Servais serves as Chair of the San Diego County Bar Association’s (SDCBA) Legal Ethics Committee. As a member of this respected committee, he regularly prepares articles and helps the SDCBA’s 10,000+ members navigate the ever-changing world of legal ethics. Mr. Servais’ work is frequently published in the SDCBA’s Ethics Quarterly, an e-publication that summarizes issues and holdings of ethics-related cases.

Mr. Servais earned his Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law. While in law school, he received several American Jurisprudence Awards, including those in Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure, and Aging Law and Public Policy.
