Benjamin B. Gordon Organizes Pro Bono Legal Clinic for Law Day at Nellis Air Force Base

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – In honor of Law Day, Klinedinst associate Benjamin B. Gordon organized a free legal clinic for service members stationed at the Nellis Air Force Base. Mr. Gordon, who chairs the Clark County Bar Association’s (CCBA) Community Service Committee, spearheaded an initiative to improve access to legal resources for active duty Air Force personnel without them even having to leave the base.

The event marked the first-ever collaboration between the CCBA and the Nellis AFB Legal Office, which included seven participating agencies. During the Law Day event, attorneys met one-on-one to discuss legal topics such as the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) of 2003 and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) of 1993. As part of the program, volunteer lawyers also hosted CLE programs for Air Force legal personnel, as well as seminars on family law, landlord-tenant law, military pensions, and immigration.

“Klinedinst is proud of its attorneys and their outstanding pro bono efforts, and Ben’s work bringing legal advisors to Nellis AFB is an outstanding example,” said Scott Carr, Co-Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. “Active duty personnel have unique challenges when it comes to legal representation, as well as protections afforded them because of their service to our country. To be able to bring legal professionals on-base — where the advice is needed most — is an outstanding initiative by the CCBA, and we commend Ben for his leadership and commitment to our military.”

As part of the firm’s Las Vegas office, Mr. Gordon focuses his practice on transactional law, including intellectual property and entertainment law, as well as civil litigation. An active member in the community, Mr. Gordon was awarded Volunteer of the Year by the CCBA in 2023, on top of being honored with the CCBA Circle of Support Award for 2022 and 2023. Since being elected as President of the CCBA Community Service Committee, Mr. Gordon has collaborated with local organizations such as Project 150, which supports homeless students with food and clothing donations. In this role, Mr. Gordon actively encourages legal professionals to help people in need within their community.

Klinedinst thanks Mr. Gordon for his contribution to the CCBA and the success of its recent Law Day event.
