SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA — The California Judges Association honored Klinedinst CEO and President Heather L. Rosing with the prestigious President’s Award on September 6th at their 95th Annual Awards Recognition Presentation in San Jose, California.
The President’s Award, CJA’s highest honor, is given to an individual who has demonstrated a strong commitment to furthering the association’s mission by providing time and counsel to aid in the advancement of organizational goals. Ms. Rosing is being celebrated for her distinguished professional career and her commitment to judicial independence and public service.
The California Judges Association is the professional association representing the interests of the judiciary of the State of California. Their mission is to promote judicial excellence to achieve fair, impartial, and equal justice for all through education, ethics, inclusivity, outreach, and advocacy. Members of the association include judges of the Superior Courts and Courts of Appeal, Commissioners of State courts, and State Bar Court judges.
Ms. Rosing is the current Co-Chair of CJA’s Judicial Fairness Coalition, which focuses on education about the judicial branch and the importance of judicial independence. The Judicial Fairness Coalition provides the public with information to help them better understand legal issues related to specific situations, including the role of judges, the rule of law, the ethical restrictions and responsibilities placed on judges, judicial selection and elections, qualifications that candidates should possess for judicial office, and judicial independence.
In 2021, Ms. Rosing served as the Co-Vice Chair of a Civility Task Force, a joint effort of the California Judges Association, the California Lawyers Association, and the State Bar of California. Additionally, she has spent over a decade representing judges and commissioners in matters before the Commission on Judicial Performance and advised judicial officers on matters pertaining to judicial ethics.
Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Erica Yew, President of the California Judges Association, congratulated Ms. Rosing on her receipt of the prestigious President’s Award: “For over a decade, Ms. Rosing has volunteered her time and expertise to educate and advocate for judges in California whether it be with the legislature or our state’s disciplinary body. Her goals have been to achieve fairness and transparency for judges and the citizens whom we serve. I’m pleased that our association can recognize her previously unsung efforts and that we can thank her.”
Ms. Rosing is a recipient of numerous accolades, including but certainly not limited to #1 SuperLawyer in San Diego in 2024, the David H. Bartick Award for Civility and Professionalism from the United States District Court for the Southern District of California in 2022, and Top Lawyer of the Decade by the Daily Journal in 2021.
