SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – Klinedinst CEO and President Heather L. Rosing has been officially appointed to lead the American Bar Association (ABA) Standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability. The appointment was announced by ABA President-Elect Deborah Enix-Ross, and will take effect at the conclusion of the ABA’s 2022 Annual Meeting in Chicago.
Founded in 1878, the ABA is one of the oldest and largest voluntary bar associations in the United States. The ABA plays a significant role in proposing state and federal laws, reforming our system of justice, accrediting law schools, and evaluating individuals nominated by the President to serve as federal judges.
The Standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability is one of the most highly visible ABA committees, serving as highly respected source of information on legal malpractice statistics, insurance for lawyers, and malpractice prevention tips. The committee also hosts the popular twice-yearly national ABA National Legal Malpractice Conference.

Ms. Rosing has developed a nationwide reputation for defending complex claims against lawyers. She also counsels law firms across California in the areas of ethics and risk management, and serves as a consultant and expert witness in the areas of fee disputes, professional responsibility, attorney/client privilege, and attorney conduct. Ms. Rosing previously served as the Inaugural Chair of California’s statewide bar association, the California Lawyers Association.
