SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – Klinedinst announced today that it has once again become a National Corporate Donor for Toys for Tots. This marks the 12th consecutive year the firm has supported the US Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, which delivers holiday cheer to children across the country.

Toys for Tots
Klinedinst serves as a National Corporate Donor for the 2021 Toys for Tots program.

Toys for Tots dates back to 1947, when Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks and his wife were looking for a way to help kids in need for the holidays. Upon learning that no organization was setup to help distribute toys to children, Hendricks, who worked at Warner Bros. enlisted the help of friends in Hollywood, as well as local area Marines, to collect and distribute 5,000 toys that first year.

Following the success of the first year’s toy drive, the Commandant directed all Marine Reserve units to launch their own Toys for Tots campaigns in their communities. One of their most famous proponents was Walt Disney, who designed a poster featuring Toys for Tots’ iconic train logo that is still in use. Today, Toys for Tots is active in over 800 communities, helping to bring holiday cheer to disadvantaged children across all fifty states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

In 2021, the organization continues to face unprecedented pressure brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to rising prices for toys and gifts, supply chain issues and drop-off closures have created additional challenges, particularly on the the Foundation’s signature toy collection program.

“The truth is, we have a critical shortage of toys going into the Christmas season,” said retired Marine Colonel Ted Silvester, Vice President for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. “Many American families are struggling to make ends meet, and many parents will be unable to provide even a single gift for their children this Christmas,” without the help of Toys for Tots, its donors, and its volunteers.

To help encourage toy donations in the midst of a pandemic, Toys for Tots is encouraging individuals to participate in its virtual ”Fill the Box” toy drive. Donors can experience the same joy of giving by selecting a toy online, purchasing it, and then placing the hand-picked toy in a virtual collection box. Toys are organized by age, and Toys for Tots will use the donation in areas where the need is greatest. For those that prefer to give a physical toy, Toys for Tots is also collecting toys locally from hundreds of toy box locations.

Klinedinst is proud to support Toys for Tots on behalf of our clients and colleagues, and encourages everyone to do the same here. To learn more about Toys for Tots, please visit:

Klinedinst has just opened the doors to its new, ultra-modern office at 777 Tower in Downtown Los Angeles. The new space takes lessons learned during COVID-19 and reimagines the modern law office in a post-pandemic business environment.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Klinedinst PC has opened the doors to its brand new office space in Los Angeles, the first office redesign unveiled since changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic prompted the firm to launch its new remote work policy.

Still located at 777 S Figueroa in downtown Los Angeles, the new ultra-modern office is located twelve floors higher in Suite 4000. The new Klinedinst Los Angeles space features a wide open floor plan, high ceilings, flexible hoteling offices for employees and clients, and state-of-the-art conference facilities.

Gone is the static reception area, stale carpeting, and the hundreds of books that took up space in the law library. In fact, the law library, a mainstay of many legal offices for decades, has been completely replaced with digital resources that can be accessed 24/7 from anywhere.

“Our new office introduces cutting-edge technology and a modern layout designed for both in-person and remote team members,” said Robert Hatem, Managing Shareholder of Klinedinst Los Angeles. “While the footprint itself is smaller, the efficiency and the design we have created make the space feel so much bigger. We are excited to share this new office experience with both employees and clients alike.”

Like most law firms, the lessons learned through the COVID-19 pandemic have influenced the way Klinedinst practices law. The firm has taken those lessons and applied them to this new location, located steps away from FIGat7th and Crypto.com Arena (formerly Staples Center).

“We are very excited with the new LA location, our first office to be created in the middle of the pandemic,” noted Susan S. Nahama, Chief Operating Officer of Klinedinst PC. “The efficiencies we have been able to achieve, while actually improving client service, have just been incredible. The design strategy we have created for LA will definitely be a bellwether for Klinedinst’s offices going forward.”

“Our Los Angeles team is on the forefront as we reimagine the law office experience, and we are extremely fortunate to have such a dedicated, resourceful, and hardworking group helping bring this new office to life,” Hatem added. “We cannot wait to show you around.”
