LOS ANGELES – Klinedinst is very pleased to announce that two attorneys have been recognized in the 2016 Southern California edition of Super Lawyers®. This year’s honorees include:

Super Lawyers is an annual publication that recognizes outstanding attorneys who have attained the highest degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. According to Super Lawyers, fewer than 5% of attorneys in California are ever featured in the magazine.

Each year, lawyers in good standing are asked to nominate fellow attorneys who demonstrate excellence in the legal profession. Attorneys nominated then go through a rigorous evaluation and research phase, and are vetted by an attorney-led review committee before being announced.

“Greg and Kevin’s diligent work ethic, their legal skill, and their dedication to the practice of law is evident, ” noted John Klinedinst, Founder and CEO of Klinedinst PC. “They are outstanding litigators and trial attorneys, and very deserving of this special honor.”

Both Klinedinst shareholders have been recognized by the publication in previous years. Mr. Gramling, who is the Managing Shareholder of Klinedinst’s Santa Ana office, was featured for the third straight year. This also marks Mr. Garbacz’ eighth time in the Southern California Super Lawyers list, dating back to his original recognition by the publication as one its “Rising Stars” back in 2004.

Klinedinst has affirmed its support as a National Corporate Donor of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Since 2010, the firm has been making donations to the foundation on behalf of clients and employees. Last year alone, Toys for Tots distributed toys to seven million children across the country.

SAN DIEGO – This year, Klinedinst PC is pleased to once again that we will be supporting the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

Since 1947, Toys for Tots has provided toys, books, and holiday presents for millions of children whose parents may be ill or struggling financially. Last year, they distributed toys to seven million children across the country.

97% of every donation made to Toys for Tots goes directly to the purchase of toys, books, and other gifts. Only 3% is spent on fundraising expenses. Toys for Tots has continued to achieve this ratio, earning them once again a top charity ranking in the Philanthropy 400 and an accreditation by the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance.

“We are delighted to work with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation for the sixth straight year in a row,” said John Klinedinst, Founder and CEO. “They play such an important role spreading holiday cheer to children and their families all over the country. We are glad to be a part of this grand foundation and have the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life.”

In 2010, Klinedinst first became a National Corporate Donor, and the firm is still the only law firm in the country to provide support at the National Corporate Donor level.

SACRAMENTO – Legal news service Law360 has featured Klinedinst attorney Lindsay N. Casillas in its Expert Analysis section.

In the article, Ms. Casillas discusses the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals’ significant ruling definitively stating that Bikram Yoga’s compilation of twenty-six yoga poses and two breathing exercises known as the “Sequence,” is not subject to copyright protection. Ms. Casillas provides background on the creation of the “Sequence,” and details the basis of the Court’s decision that the “Sequence” is an idea and not the proper subject of copyright.

This ruling could have far-reaching implications on specialized gyms and exercise businesses built upon sequences, such as gyms and yoga studios. The exercise routines or processes practiced at these establishments may no longer be protected from their competition, and franchise owners who paid fees for exclusive rights may find that exclusivity significantly diminished.

Klinedinst congratulates Ms. Casillas on the publication of this timely and far-reaching Law360 article article. To learn more about Ms. Casillas, please visit:
